Stephen Covey said something very important about change in our lives. Most of our attempts at development fail because we expect results quickly, but the truth is that real change doesn't happen overnight.

The farm theory explains that any change requires four essential elements: time, planning, continuous practice, and periodic review. Without one of these elements, the outcome will not be as expected.

The second thing Covey emphasized is that human personality goes through three different stages of growth. The first stage is childhood, where a person is fully dependent on others. Then there is a transition to true success, where the personality shifts from dependence on others to self-reliance, becoming a strong, independent individual.

But we don't stop there. The third stage is collective success, where the personality develops further and becomes capable of mutual reliance and genuine cooperation. Here, a person not only depends on themselves but also becomes able to manage human relationships and use them wisely.
