Just stumbled on this legendary Bitcoin story that never gets old. Remember Kristoffer Koch? This Norwegian guy back in 2009 was literally just researching encryption for his thesis, right? Figured he'd throw 150 crowns (roughly 27 bucks at the time) into Bitcoin as an experiment. Five thousand coins. Then he just... forgot about it. Like actually forgot.

Fast forward to 2013. Kristoffer Koch sees the news about Bitcoin absolutely exploding. Suddenly it clicks. Oh wait, didn't I buy some of that years ago? Panic mode activated. Where's the password? Hours of digging through old files, trying every password combination he could remember. Finally finds it.

Opens the wallet. His 27 dollar investment had become 886 thousand dollars. Not a typo. Nearly 900k. The man literally bought an apartment in one of Oslo's most expensive neighborhoods with the profits.

What kills me about Kristoffer Koch's story is it completely flips the script on what we think about investing. No analysis paralysis. No obsessive chart watching. No diamond hands mentality. Just curiosity, a forgotten password, and time. He didn't even have to stress-sell at the bottom because he literally didn't remember he owned any.

It's the kind of story that makes you wonder: what's more insane, the luck of buying that early or the luck of completely forgetting to panic and dump it? Either way, sometimes the best investment move is not checking your portfolio for four years.
