“A World-Class Sports Presentation”: Disney Stock (NYSE:DIS) Slips With New Branch Into Korean Esports
Esports are still a major part of the entertainment landscape, and entertainment giant Disney (DIS) is stepping in to make that very streamable sport a part of its own operations. Disney+ is now partnered with the Korea Esports Association (KeSPA), a move that will bring esports to the streaming platform. Investors seemed skeptical about the overall impact of this move, meanwhile, and sent shares down fractionally in the closing minutes of Monday’s trading.

This is not the first time that Disney and KeSPA have worked together. The duo got together for the 2025 League of Legends (LoL) Cup livestream, and apparently, this plan worked well enough for Disney to come back for more. Now, Disney will cover the 2026 LoL KeSPA Cup, as well as the Esports Champions Asia Jinju 2026 and the Korea national team send-off ceremony. Disney will also cover some of the “friendly matches” ahead of the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 event.
The action starts up April 24-26, when the Esports Championships Asia 2026 event fires up. The championship event is a three-day affair in Jinju in South Korea. ESPN will also have a hand in some of the coverage, designed to offer fans “…a world-class sports presentation.”
An EPCOT Staple Removed
Disney’s EPCOT Center is a major part of its operations, one that has been around for a long time, but is often overlooked in the midst of high-energy and newer attractions. Starting today, EPCOT is pulling the “Early Bloom” experience at the Farmer’s Feast outdoor kitchen, part of the International Flower & Garden Festival at EPCOT.
The “Early Bloom” experience delivered dishes to try based on early spring flavors, and often “…defined the early portion of the festival,” reports noted. Some of those dishes included such things as seared scallop with spring pea risotto and lemon beurre blanc, as well as blueberry crumble cake with blueberry-lemon soft serve. Farmer’s Feast runs on a rotating menu, and the Early Bloom menu was meant to come to an end April 5 anyway, reports noted.
Is Disney Stock a Buy or Hold?
Turning to Wall Street, analysts have a Strong Buy consensus rating on DIS stock based on 18 Buys and three Holds assigned in the past three months, as indicated by the graphic below. After a 15.98% rally in its share price over the past year, the average DIS price target of $132.67 per share implies 37.81% upside potential.
