The U.S. Air Force’s F-15E Strike Eagle twin-seat fighter was shot down over Iran on April 3, and both crew members ejected and escaped. The pilot was quickly rescued, while the second crew member, the weapons systems officer, was also rescued later. U.S. President Trump stated on April 5 that the second crew member is ‘severely injured.’
