On March 31, Fushun Special Steel Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Fushun Special Steel”)’s newly built 6,000-cubic-meter-per-hour internal compression air separation unit project in the Power Plant officially entered the approval publicity stage, marking a key step the company has taken in optimizing its production support and improving its energy assurance capabilities.

It is reported that Fushun Special Steel plans to invest RMB 68.07 million in special funds to carry out the construction work for this air separation unit project. The core content of this newly built project is to set up a set of internal compression air separation unit with a gas production capacity of 6,000 standard cubic meters per hour (6,000 Nm³/h), along with the simultaneous construction of related auxiliary facilities. After completion, it will fully replace the company’s existing oxygen production units, further improving oxygen production efficiency and stability.

To achieve efficient utilization of resources and reduce the project construction cost, this project will adopt a construction model of “new construction as the main approach and reusing existing assets as a supplement.” After relocating and renovating part of the equipment and storage tanks in the existing oxygen production units for reuse, it will both reduce the waste of fixed assets and effectively shorten the project construction period. As an important auxiliary production device in the metallurgical industry, an air separation unit is mainly used to separate components such as oxygen and nitrogen in the air, providing ample industrial gases for steel production. It is known as the “lungs of modern industry,” and the quality of its performance directly affects the company’s production efficiency and product quality.

This newly built 6,000-cubic-meter-per-hour internal compression air separation unit will not only meet the incremental demand for industrial gases in Fushun Special Steel’s production process, but will also, through technological upgrades, reduce energy consumption and improve gas supply stability—providing solid energy support for the company’s subsequent capacity optimization and product upgrades, and helping the company achieve green and high-efficiency development. At present, the project’s approval publicity has been officially released, and the project will be advanced and implemented in accordance with relevant regulations and standards.

Construction scale:

Oxygen output 4000 Nm3/h (2.5MPa)

Oxygen 2000 Nm3/h (1.5MPa)

Nitrogen 3000 Nm3/h (2.5MPa)

Nitrogen 1500 Nm3/h (0.8MPa)

Liquid nitrogen converted to gaseous 200 Nm3/h

Liquid oxygen converted to gaseous 200 Nm3/h

Liquid argon converted to gaseous 180 Nm3/h
