Viewpoint Network News: On April 6, OpenAI released an article titled Industrial Policy in the Intelligent Age: A People-First Approach, proposing a series of AI-era industrial policy recommendations, aimed at addressing social changes driven by artificial intelligence.

According to the introduction, the policy recommendations released this time cover areas including establishing a public wealth fund, setting up rapidly responsive social security programs, and accelerating the construction of power infrastructure, among other things. It also proposes exploring directions such as incentivizing employers to pilot a four-day workweek on a trial basis without reducing employees’ output.

OpenAI said that the goal of these recommendations is to serve as a “starting point” for broader discussion—“ensuring that AI benefits everyone.”
