Just saw this case and it's wild - the FBI actually seized over $260k in crypto and NFTs from this guy Chase Senecal back in 2022. Apparently dude was running phishing scams targeting NFT holders and got caught because of a crypto detective named ZachXBT who basically did the FBI's job for them lol.

So here's what went down: Senecal (also known as HZ online) got Twitter panel access from some SIM swapper called Cam, then used it to hack into NFT holders' accounts and steal their stuff. The seized assets included 86.5678 ETH, a Bored Ape #9658, and a Doodle NFT. But the craziest part? He bought a $41k Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch with the stolen money and that's literally what helped catch him.

ZachXBT tracked the transactions and figured out the watch purchase was connected to multiple Discord server hacks. Once the blockchain sleuth published his findings, the FBI moved fast and confiscated everything on October 24, 2022. Chase Senecal was apparently part of some massive operation that hit over 600 Discord servers and compromised like 12 Twitter accounts.

What's interesting is ZachXBT actually got the credit for breaking the case open, even though the FBI didn't officially acknowledge it at first. The guy literally said his investigation directly led to the seizure. Pretty insane that one person's detective work on-chain could take down a whole phishing ring like that.
