The Ministry of Public Security dispatched a work team today and successfully escorted Li Xiong, a core member of Chen Zhi’s criminal syndicate, from Phnom Penh, Cambodia, back to China. According to the investigation, Li Xiong previously served as the chairman of Huiwang Group, which is under the Tai Zi Group, and is suspected of committing multiple crimes, including operating a casino, fraud, illegal business operations, and concealing or disguising the proceeds of crime. At present, Li Xiong has been taken compulsory measures in accordance with the law, and the related case is under further investigation. A person in charge of the Ministry of Public Security said that several other core members of Chen Zhi’s criminal syndicate have already turned themselves in one after another, and public security authorities will continue to intensify their efforts to resolutely arrest and bring all fugitives to justice.
