Just came across something that's been making waves in the crypto community and honestly, it's pretty eye-opening. ZachXBT dropped a leaked list exposing over 200 influencers who've been getting paid to promote projects without telling their followers about it. Yeah, you read that right.
What makes this worse is that the list actually contains their wallet addresses showing the payments they received. So we're not talking about speculation here – there's actual on-chain evidence. And get this: out of all those 200+ influencers on the leaked list, fewer than 5 of them actually disclosed that their promotional posts were paid ads. That's pretty damning.
I think what really gets me is how this exposes the transparency problem we've been ignoring. The crypto space loves to talk about decentralization and trustlessness, but here we have a situation where influencers are literally misleading their communities for a paycheck. New investors especially are getting hit hard by this because they think they're getting genuine advice when it's just marketing in disguise.
The whole thing feels like a trust killer. These leaked influencers and their undisclosed promotions are exactly the kind of behavior that makes people skeptical about taking advice from anyone in this space. You start questioning everything – like, who can you actually believe anymore?
Honestly, this is why I've been leaning more toward doing your own research instead of just blindly following what influencers say. Not saying they're all bad, but this leak definitely proves we need way more accountability. What's your take on this? Are you still following influencers after seeing something like this, or have you moved toward finding information from other sources?
