To cope with high oil prices, Indonesia raises fuel surcharges and airline ticket prices

On April 6 local time, the Indonesian government announced that it would raise the air transport fuel surcharge rate by 28 percentage points and allow airlines to increase domestic route ticket prices by up to 13%. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of Indonesia Airlangga Hartarto said that, due to the conflict in the Middle East causing global oil prices to surge, Indonesia’s air transport fuel surcharge would be raised from 10% to 38% of the ticket price. In addition, domestic route ticket prices in Indonesia will generally be increased by 9% to 13%. (CCTV News)
