According to CCTV International News, today (April 5), the Iranian Tasnim News Agency posted on social media photos of a U.S. aircraft that was shot down while participating in the rescue operation. That same day, Iran’s state television also released on its social media account a video of the U.S. aircraft that was shot down.

On April 5, the spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Command of the Iranian Armed Forces said that, under the “timely and consistent” joint action of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Iranian Army, the Basij militia, and law-enforcement forces, enemy aircraft that had entered the southern Isfahan region—including two “Black Hawk” helicopters and a C-130 military transport aircraft—were all hit. The spokesperson said this “declares a failure” of the attempts by the United States to rescue the crew members of the aircraft that had been shot down.

In the same day, The New York Times reported that the missing U.S. pilot had been rescued and sent to Kuwait for treatment. During the process of rescuing that pilot, the U.S. military destroyed two “stranded” U.S. transport aircraft that were tasked with the rescue operation.

Earlier today (April 5) morning, according to the Israel Defense Forces monitoring, Iran launched a new ballistic missile attack against northern Israel. The Israeli military said the missiles were intercepted and the attack caused no casualties. This was the third attack to occur today, and the first attack in nearly six hours.

Also, according to a correspondent from the CTM (China Central Television) News Agency today (April 5) who obtained information from Israel’s Ministry of Health, since the United States and Israel launched military strikes against Iran, the total number of people sent to hospitals in Israel due to the fighting has risen to 6,833, and there are still 138 people receiving treatment in hospitals.

In a statement issued today (April 5), Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Iran’s Foreign Minister Aragchi late in the evening of the 4th separately spoke by phone with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dar and Egypt’s Foreign Minister Abdel Atti, exchanging views on regional and international developments.

According to CCTV International News citing reports from Iranian media, Aragchi said during the call with Dar that the United States and Israel, as the initiators of this “imposed war,” are the main culprits behind the current instability in the region and its impact on the world. He emphasized that Iran has a firm resolve and will use all means to continue to defend the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Dar provided details of Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to stop the military aggression against Iran and restore peace and stability in the region, and emphasized the importance of continuing consultations to achieve this goal.
