Iranian Parliament's National Security Committee approves the Strait of Hormuz toll bill

Iran’s parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee has passed a bill to impose fees on ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz. It is reported that the bill’s content includes using the Iranian rial as the currency to carry out the financial arrangements and the fee collection system; banning U.S. and Israeli ships from transiting the Strait of Hormuz; safeguarding Iran’s sovereignty status and that of its armed forces; and banning countries that participate in unilateral sanctions against Iran from transiting. Iran will work with Oman to develop the relevant legal framework. (Sina Finance)
