Iran Situation | Iraqi vessels permitted to use the Strait of Hormuz
Iran’s military said Iraq is not bound by restrictions on shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, which could help release up to 3 million barrels per day of Iraqi oil supply.
An Iranian military spokesman said in a statement published by Iran’s official media outlet, Iran’s official news agency (IRNA), that the friendly country is not affected by Iran’s measures restricting shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
Recently, a French container ship and an oil tanker owned by Japan passed through the waterway, becoming the first known vessels associated with the United States to successfully transit.
