Hey, I found something interesting about Elon Musk's cryptocurrencies that I didn't know. Like, he's not just a crypto fan; he actually holds stakes in several coins. I started researching, and it's pretty curious.
So, Bitcoin is obvious, right? Back in 2021, Tesla invested $1.5 billion in BTC, and Musk confirmed that he personally still holds some. The guy sees it as digital gold. But then there's Ethereum, which he revealed to have in his portfolio during a conference in 2021. Makes sense, since ETH is the foundation of DeFi and NFTs.
Now, the interesting part is Dogecoin. Musk is literally obsessed with DOGE, he doesn't hide it. He called it the "people's crypto," and wants to use it for payments at Tesla and SpaceX. The guy even earned the nickname "Father of Doge" because of this. And there's more—speculation about Shiba Inu and Floki too, but he denies owning SHIB. Floki was named after his dog, so there's probably a connection there.
What caught my attention most is that the cryptocurrency Elon Musk advocates for publicly is precisely Dogecoin, that started as a meme. Like, the crypto Elon Musk really supports is community-based with low fees. Very different from Bitcoin, which is more about store of value. Do you think he truly believes in the potential of these coins, or is it more about the hype?
