【Caixin Net】 The “ChatGPT moment” of 2022 changed the development trajectory of the artificial intelligence (AI) industry. At the Boao Forum for Asia 2026 Annual Conference on March 25, experts held heated discussions on when the “ChatGPT moment” for humanoid robots would arrive.

Among them, Wang Xiaogang, co-founder of SenseTime and chairman of the board of Daxiao Robotics, offered the most optimistic prediction in the room: the “ChatGPT moment” for humanoid robots will come two years later, in 2027. At that time, through an environment-based rapid data collection approach, the robotics industry’s volume of data will increase from the current level of tens of thousands of hours to 10 million hours.

Wang Xiaogang added that when the industry is entering a “ChatGPT moment,” what it really means is that the technical roadmap has become certain. In other words, expanding the data scale along a particular technical route will increase the model size, and it will also be able to generate returns.
