Zelensky says Middle East conflict may lead to a decline in U.S. aid to Ukraine

People’s Finance and News, April 5 — According to a message released by the Ukrainian side on April 5, Ukrainian President Zelensky recently warned that the long-running conflicts in the Middle East could cause the United States to reduce its military assistance to Ukraine. He said that the ongoing fighting involving the United States and Israel with Iran may force Washington to reallocate resources, thereby weakening support for Kyiv. He particularly emphasized that Ukraine urgently needs more Patriot air defense systems to intercept Russia’s ballistic missiles, and that currently there are no effective replacements for such systems in the market. He added that, due to the conflict in the Middle East, Ukraine is no longer the focus of international attention, which creates risks of aid cutbacks and could even affect previously approved aid programs.
