Just watched Jon Stul on Shark Tank and honestly, the pressure he must've felt walking in there wasn't even about the pitch. His dad is Manny Stul—literally a billionaire who built Moose Toys from the ground up and became the first Australian to win Ernst & Young's World Entrepreneur of the Year. That's a massive shadow to step out of.

But here's what got me: Jon wasn't there to coast on his family name. He came with an actual product, a real vision, and you could feel the hunger. Like he was determined to prove he could build something himself, not just inherit a legacy.

That's the thing about having successful parents in business—having doors open is one thing. Walking through them and creating your own path? That's completely different. Jon Stul came prepared, and you could tell he wasn't interested in shortcuts.

It's a good reminder that legacy can give you a head start, but it doesn't build your company for you. You still have to put in the work, take the risks, and prove yourself. Pretty wild watching someone that hungry go after it on that stage.
