Alibaba DAMO Academy Unveils New Generation Flagship CPU Xuantie C950
Viewpoint Network News: On March 24, the 2026 Xuantie RISC-V Ecosystem Conference hosted by Alibaba DAMO Academy was held in Shanghai. The event officially announced the new flagship CPU product Xuantie C950, and introduced two native RISC-V AI engines: the Vector Acceleration Engine and the Matrix Acceleration Engine, exploring the development of new CPUs for the AI Agent era.
According to publicly available information, Xuantie C950 adopts an open-source RISC-V architecture. Its single-core general performance exceeds 70 points in the SPECint2006 benchmark, setting a new global record for RISC-V CPU performance.
This processor is equipped with self-developed AI acceleration engines and natively supports large models with hundreds of billions of parameters, such as Qwen3 and DeepSeek V3. It is suitable for cloud computing, generative AI, high-end robotics, and edge computing.
Information shows that DAMO Academy has signed strategic cooperation agreements with Beijing Open Source Chip Research Institute and the Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The three parties will jointly develop the next-generation open-source RISC-V CPU “Xiangshan,” tackling key technologies such as SMT, on-chip interconnect, and integrated communication and push, to collaboratively build a high-performance RISC-V software ecosystem.
