Charles Ching, a lawyer, joins Ouhua Law Firm (DLA Piper) as a partner.

Charles Ching earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University in 1999 and a Juris Doctor from Yale Law School in 2003. He is licensed to practice in New York and will obtain licensure in Washington, D.C.

With 22 years of experience, Charles specializes in representing financial institutions, investors, and corporate clients in cross-border mergers and acquisitions and investment transactions, particularly focusing on private equity investments, M&A deals, and regional joint ventures and other corporate transactions in Asia.

Charles will be based in Washington, D.C., with regular travel to Greater China. His career began at the top New York law firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore, where he practiced for six years. He then joined the Hong Kong office of Freshfields for five years, during which he was promoted to partner. Subsequently, he served as a partner at Weil, Gotshal & Manges for 10 years, based in Shanghai and Hong Kong.
