The State Council Food Safety Office and the State Administration for Market Regulation deploy efforts across regions to strengthen quality and safety control of infant formula milk powder
In response to the recent voluntary recall of Nestlé infant formula due to the detection of Bacillus cereus vomiting toxin, the Food Safety Office of the State Council and the State Administration for Market Regulation attach great importance. They have urged Nestlé (China) Co., Ltd. to complete the recall of specific batches of products sold in mainland China. As of now, no confirmed cases of Bacillus cereus vomiting toxin poisoning caused by infant formula have been reported in China. The State Administration for Market Regulation has deployed local authorities to strengthen the quality and safety control of infant formula, urging all manufacturers to conduct Bacillus cereus vomiting toxin testing, strictly inspect raw materials and product release, and fully ensure the quality and safety of infant formula.
