Russian stock market declined on Saturday, with the MOEX Russia Index remaining nearly unchanged, reaching a nearly three-month high. Stocks such as TATNEFT and LUKOIL performed well, while RusHydro and Magnit declined. A total of 185 stocks fell, and 51 stocks rose. Gold and crude oil futures prices increased, and the US dollar exchange rate rose.

Investing.com – The Russian stock market declined on Saturday, led by certain sectors dragging the indices.

At the close, the MOEX Russia Index was virtually unchanged, up 0.00%, reaching a nearly three-month high.

The best-performing stock in the MOEX Russia Index was TATNEFT n.a. V.D. Shashin (MCX:TATN), up 3.04% (16.50 points), closing at 559.50. Meanwhile, LUKOIL PJSC (MCX:LKOH) rose 2.99% (156.00 points), closing at 5,376.50; TATNEFT n.a. V.D. Shashin Pref (MCX:TATN_p) increased 2.98% (15.50 points), ending the session at 535.00.

The weakest-performing stock was Federal Hydro Generating Company RusHydro PJSC (MCX:HYDR), down 1.80% (0.01 points), closing at 0.44. Magnit PJSC (MCX:MGNT) fell 1.65% (55.50 points), closing at 3,304.00; Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works PAO (MCX:MAGN) declined 1.30% (0.41 points), ending at 31.10.

A total of 185 stocks on the Moscow Exchange declined, outnumbering the 51 stocks that gained, while 11 stocks remained unchanged.

The Russian Volatility Index (RVI), which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, remained steady at 0.00%, at 23.92, hitting a one-month low.

Gold futures April options rose 1.03% (53.70 points), reaching $5,267.20. In other futures, April WTI crude oil futures increased 2.78% (1.81 points), trading at $67.02, while May London Brent crude oil futures rose 2.87% (2.03), trading at $72.87.

USD/RUB increased by 0.55%, with the exchange rate at 77.30; meanwhile, EUR/RUB gained 0.69%, quoted at 91.32.

The US dollar index futures fell 0.17%, to 97.57.
