There is an open-source project on GitHub with 196,000 stars called OSSU, claiming to help you self-study the entire undergraduate computer science curriculum for free. You can take open courses from Harvard, MIT, Princeton at will, covering programming, algorithms, systems, security, and more.
It is said to require only 20 hours per week, completing a CS degree in 2 years' worth of knowledge. There is also a Discord community where learners worldwide help each other. Most importantly, it’s completely free; if you really need to pay, you can also apply for scholarships. Sounds great, right? But I did some calculations: 20 hours a week, which totals 1,040 hours a year, and 2,080 hours in two years. That’s equivalent to a full-time job. So, the most suitable people for this project are those with plenty of time, strong self-discipline, and no income worries. In other words, either you have a lot of money at home, or you are a true learning fanatic. But on the other hand, those who can stick with it are really tough. It has already been forked 24,000 times, and the number of people who actually finish... well, good luck 😂
