More than 300 Google employees and 60 OpenAI employees have signed an open letter urging their respective companies to support Anthropic's confrontation with the Pentagon. This artificial intelligence company refuses to allow its technology to be used for large-scale domestic surveillance or autonomous weapons. The Pentagon has threatened to list Anthropic as a supply chain risk or invoke the Defense Production Act to compel compliance. OpenAI's Sam Altman and Google's Jeff Dean have expressed sympathy for Anthropic's stance, but their companies have not yet responded officially.
