The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs issued implementation guidelines for the “Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on Solidly Promoting Rural Revitalization with a Focus on Agricultural and Rural Modernization,” which emphasizes vigorously advancing the Smart Agriculture Action Plan. It calls for strengthening the application of artificial intelligence in agriculture and rural areas, expanding application scenarios such as drones, the Internet of Things, and robots. Support regions with favorable conditions to pioneer and pilot smart agriculture initiatives, release a batch of typical cases, promote key technologies and digital tools, and cultivate a number of smart farms (for farming, animal husbandry, and fisheries). Promote the construction of smart agriculture technology centers, accelerate breakthroughs in key core technologies and intelligent equipment, and promote the formulation of basic standards for smart agriculture and testing and inspection systems for technical equipment. Improve the integrated aerial-ground agricultural observation network, accelerate the development of agricultural and rural big data platforms and cloud services, and refine agricultural and rural statistical survey indicators.
