Federal Reserve's Goolsbee: Rates can be lowered, but they don't want to cut rates significantly before inflation eases.

On February 27, Fed’s Goolsbee stated, “Interest rates can be lowered, but we don’t want to cut rates significantly before inflation eases. We will let the economy overheat, but we shouldn’t do that. I hope we act cautiously. I am one of the most optimistic members of the Federal Reserve regarding rate cuts this year. The job market is stable, and the economy has been steady.” (Jin10)
