The Russian stock market declined on Saturday, with the MOEX Russia Index essentially unchanged. The best-performing stock was Mobile TeleSystems, which rose 0.53%. VTB Bank performed poorly, falling 0.49%. In the market, 121 stocks rose while 97 declined. Gold futures prices increased, while WTI crude oil slightly declined. The US dollar against the ruble slightly decreased, and the euro against the ruble slightly increased.

Investing.com – The Russian stock market declined on Saturday, led by certain sectors.

At the close, the MOEX Russia Index was essentially unchanged, flat at 0.00%.

The best-performing stock in the MOEX Russia Index was PJSC Mobile TeleSystems (MCX:MTSS), up 0.53% (1.25 points), closing at 236.00. Meanwhile, PJSC Rosneft (MCX:ROSN) rose 0.39% (1.55 points), closing at 397.20; PJSC ROSSETI (MCX:FEES) remained flat with a 0.35% change (0.00 points), ending the session at 0.07.

The weakest performer was PJSC Bank VTB (MCX:VTBR), down 0.49% (0.44 points), closing at 88.45. PJSC AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) declined 0.23% (0.03 points), ending at 14.13; Novolipetsk Steel (MCX:NLMK) fell 0.18% (0.20 points), closing at 111.06.

A total of 121 stocks on the Moscow Exchange rose, surpassing the 97 stocks that declined, while 23 stocks remained unchanged, essentially flat.

The Russian Volatility Index (RVI), which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, remained unchanged at 0.00% to 24.99.

Gold futures April options contracts increased by 1.67% (83.50 points), reaching $5,080.90. In other futures, April WTI crude oil futures declined 0.06% (0.04 points), at $66.39, while April London Brent crude oil futures rose 0.14% (0.10), trading at $71.76.

USD/RUB declined 0.03%, at 76.72; meanwhile, EUR/RUB increased 0.04%, at 90.39.

The US dollar index futures fell 0.13%, at 97.73.
