According to CCTV News, the first meeting of the APEC Subcommittee on Standards and Conformity Assessment in 2026 was held in Guangzhou. China proposed several cooperation projects at the meeting, which received positive responses from various economies. These include standard coordination to promote the application of brain-computer interface technology in the rehabilitation field, and new initiatives to promote digital empowerment for green transformation, involving technologies such as AI and blockchain. Additionally, a project on “Standardization of Elderly-Friendly Food Design” was proposed to improve nutrition and food adaptation issues for seniors, promoting healthy aging and innovative development. The meeting focused on trends in digitalization, intelligence, and green development, and aimed to advance cooperation in standards and conformity assessment in the Asia-Pacific region.
