Beijing News Shell Finance Report: “Sanya Release” data shows that since the Spring Festival holiday, the passenger flow at Haikou Meilan, Sanya Phoenix, and Qionghai Boao airports has remained at a high level, exhibiting an operational trend of “large passenger volume, many wide-body aircraft, and strong interconnectivity.” On February 19, the three major airports on the island handled a total of 1,176 flights, transporting over 215,000 passengers, an increase of more than 6.3% year-on-year.
According to forecasts, starting February 20, the three major airports on Hainan Island will enter the return peak period. Among them, February 23 (the seventh day of the Lunar New Year) is expected to be the peak day of passenger flow during the entire Spring Festival travel period, with an estimated 232,000 passengers transported that day. The return peak period is characterized by concentrated passenger return, high peak volume, and short cycle.
