Aave core contributor BGD Labs will cease services in April
On February 20th, Aave core contributor BGD Labs announced that their service agreement with the Aave DAO will not be renewed after it expires on April 1, 2026, and they will cease contributions. BGD has led or participated in the development of Aave v3, governance, and security-related infrastructure over the past four years, but due to changes in organizational direction and governance environment, they have decided to end the collaboration. They stated that they will complete existing work and handover before the expiration date, and proposed providing a two-month transition period of security support, subject to community governance approval.
