On the evening of the 17th, Afghan government spokesperson Mujahid announced that Afghanistan had released three Pakistani soldiers who had been detained for over four months. Mujahid posted on social media that Afghanistan adheres to a policy of maintaining good relations with all countries, and out of respect for the upcoming Ramadan, as well as in response to the request from the Saudi delegation that arrived on the 16th, the three Pakistani soldiers, who were “captured” in the border conflict at Abba on October 12, 2025, were released and handed over to the Saudi delegation. Since October last year, there have been multiple clashes in the Afghanistan-Pakistan border region. On October 19 last year, under the mediation of Qatar and Turkey, both sides agreed to a ceasefire. Since then, several rounds of talks have been held in Doha, Istanbul, and Riyadh to ensure the sustainability of the ceasefire, but no results have been achieved. (CCTV News)
