Tongtong Finance APP has learned that Lao Pu Gold (06181) initially fell over 5% in the morning session, with the decline narrowing. As of the time of writing, it was down 4%, trading at HKD 756, with a turnover of HKD 196 million.

On the news front, Lao Pu Gold announced on February 18 that it will implement a price adjustment on February 28, with product pricing details subject to the actual marked prices of online and offline products. According to China Securities Journal, this price adjustment is an upward adjustment. It is understood that, unlike the traditional jewelry store pricing model of “market gold price + craftsmanship fee,” Lao Pu Gold adopts a “fixed price + periodic adjustment” strategy, adjusting prices about two to three times a year. In 2025, Lao Pu Gold will raise product prices three times in February, August, and October. This price adjustment will be the first adjustment for Lao Pu Gold in 2026.

Additionally, influenced by tensions between the US and Iran, spot gold prices surged sharply in the afternoon yesterday, once surpassing $5,000. Notably, gold prices experienced intense volatility from late January to early February, reaching a historic high of $5,598 before retreating more than 20% to around $4,400. Some analysts believe that although the short-term trend of gold prices remains uncertain, high volatility may become the new normal.
