Viewpoint Network News: On February 16, Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced that Chairman and CEO Thomas J. Pritzker has informed the board that he will immediately step down from his role as Executive Chairman and will not seek re-election as a director at Hyatt’s annual shareholders’ meeting in May.
The board has appointed Hyatt President and CEO Mark S. Hoplamazian as Chairman of the Board, effective immediately.
According to publicly available information, Pritzker has served as a member of Hyatt’s board and as Executive Chairman since August 2004, and has held senior management and chairman positions at the predecessor company since 1980.
