As long as a person still has a heart that relies on others, they will subconsciously flatter, please, and compromise. This is the reason for low status. So what if no one relies on you? Pray to God. When mortals can't go on, they always pray to God. But who will save the gods? There is nothing that can save the gods; gods are self-salvaging. Gods do not have higher-level idols to pray to, nor do they have illusions of dependence. So what is a god? Respect for the laws is a god; relying on oneself is a god. The first thing every theology learns should be to no longer rely on others, no longer shirk responsibility, and no longer hold onto illusory expectations. Clear the way over mountains, build bridges over water. A person who acts independently and bears all consequences—that is a god.
