Three mistakes are enough to wipe out your entire year's gains.

This is the deepest realization I’ve gained from my experience in the trading market.

At first, I didn’t believe it either. I would immerse myself in candlesticks and indicators every day, watch the charts for over ten hours, and when I made a little profit, I thought I had figured it out. But reality gave me a slap in the face.

One time chasing a high entry, another time holding a position without stop-loss, and another time adding to a position out of emotion—my account quickly returned to the starting point.

Later, I understood a cruel logic: the core of competition in the crypto world is not who makes money the fastest, but who makes fewer mistakes.

What truly changed me wasn’t how sophisticated my trades were, but rather establishing three strict rules for myself:

Never touch a market you don’t understand.
Give up on contrarian trades immediately.
Stop-loss on losing trades when necessary.

Better to miss a wave of market movement than to gamble with your principal.

The amazing thing is that when you start reducing your mistakes, your account actually grows steadily. Making money is just a bonus; the real art of trading is not to make mistakes.

Now, new opportunities appear every day, but only those traders who know how to exercise restraint will ultimately survive and leave the market with a smile.

What can I say, I’ve lost more than I’ve gained from three mistakes in a year. I know this all too well. --- Stop-loss is easy to talk about but really hard to do; it all depends on whether you can be ruthless enough to press that button. --- The most heartbreaking thing is that I’ve fallen into all three of these traps, and my account is still in recovery. --- Self-control is the real skill; it’s more valuable than any technical indicator, but who can really do it? --- Three mistakes are indeed fatal. I am currently digesting the heavy losses caused by those errors. --- I’ve heard countless times that if you don’t understand it, don’t touch it, but no one really does, including me. --- That’s why 90% of people end up losing money—they can’t master the basics and just want to make quick money. --- The moment my account returned to the starting point was truly despairing. I am now more cautious but have also missed many opportunities. --- That’s how the crypto world is: making money is about luck, but consistent profits are a real skill.

Talking about stop-loss is easy, but when it comes to actual losses, I still want to hold on and give it a try.

That's true, but everyone listening got wiped out on the first attempt to chase the highs, including me...
