What is the essence of fiat currency? Whether in the East or the West, the monetary systems issued by central banks around the world are all built on a foundation of credit. In economic terms, these so-called paper currencies are essentially debt certificates—their value depends entirely on market trust in the issuing institution.

But this system has a fatal flaw: continuous devaluation.

Numbers tell the story. The US dollar has lost 99% of its purchasing power since 1900. The same story applies to the Chinese Renminbi—since 1949, it has also depreciated by 99%. What does this mean? Simply put, today’s $100 has the same purchasing power as $1 in 1900.

You might think these figures are too distant to relate to. Let’s look at examples around us. Remember the 50-cent tea egg from childhood? Now? 2, 3, 5 dollars, or even more. This visible price surge is the most direct reflection of currency devaluation.

It is this systemic flaw of depreciation that has led to the birth of Bitcoin and the entire crypto ecosystem. Blockchain technology offers a new path: decentralized, fixed supply, anti-inflation assets.

The current trend is also clear—cross-border payments are gradually being realized on-chain, and traditional financial assets are also being tokenized. Opportunities are waiting there. The future of the crypto industry still holds many unknowns, but based on current technological breakthroughs and market trends, there are countless directions to explore.
