I made around 4 million in the crypto world, starting with only 50,000 yuan. After graduating from college, I didn't get a job. Over the years, I’ve been running between Kunming and Dali, renting places, avoiding the hassle of buying a house or a car. My daily expenses are covered with about 1,500 yuan a month.
How did I accumulate my first pot of gold? I started experimenting in college—doing various side jobs like projects, Taobao affiliate marketing, courier deliveries, and app promotion. Little by little, I saved up to 50,000 yuan.
The real turning point came when I entered the crypto space. At that time, BTC prices were skyrocketing, which seemed a bit risky, so I became interested in ETH instead. ETH has leverage options, and I also participated in some altcoin spot trading. The core logic was simple: carefully select coins, strictly manage positions. The idea was straightforward: lose a little during bad market times, and make big gains when the market rises. Just follow this simple and rough approach, and the results came naturally.
Why try the crypto world at all? Honestly, if you want to change your fate, you must challenge a highly volatile market. If you can't make money in this circle, ordinary people probably won't have many opportunities in their lifetime.
Let me talk about the underlying logic of making money. To turn your investments around, there are mainly two dimensions:
**The first is capital size.** If you have 15 million yuan, a 50% gain turns it into 22.5 million. This isn’t hard—investing in A-shares index funds or buying a few ETFs, earning 50% in one or two years is quite common. But the problem is, where does an ordinary person get that much principal?
**The second is volatility.** When you don’t have huge capital, volatility becomes your weapon. Although the current crypto volatility isn’t as crazy as before, it still offers leverage-level differences compared to traditional markets. This creates opportunities: during dips, you might lose your principal, but during rises, you could see 10x or 20x returns.
So, for ordinary people, the strategy is pretty clear—buy spot, be patient, and don’t be timid during upward trends. Many people haven't experienced the thrill of a coin doubling in value, or the emotional rollercoaster of checking prices 50 times a day. Even more painful is holding tight when losing money, but struggling to hold onto gains when making money. Building this psychological resilience is actually more important than technical analysis.
