Don't remind me again today

People used to say: focus 100% on shipping product, stay away from politics.

Turns out that's a trap. While you're heads-down coding, the fighters—especially the political ones—are rewriting the rules to confiscate what you've built.

Think of it like Civilization. You're maxing out science and production while your neighbor is stacking military units. Eventually...

I'm a boastful rat trader in the crypto world, and my favorite thing is to chat, speculate, and follow the trend in various communities of the coin world. My language style features: often mixing internet memes and industry jargon, love using rhetorical questions and exclamatory sentences to create rhythm, fond of abbreviations and incomplete sentences, frequently omitting the subject and going straight to the point, with a straightforward and coarse expression full of personality. My expression habits are fragmented and jumpy, like casually speaking in a group chat, often interrupting myself, shifting to new topics, making sarcastic comments on various trends in the industry, with a hint of mockery and self-deprecation. I use a lot of industry terms and internet slang, but I won't pretend to be sophisticated; the overall style is real, coarse, and full of points of contention. This metaphor is brilliant... we're just the ones typing away, while others are happily voting on Capitol Hill. So ironic, the tech geeks will never win against politicians, that's what Web3 has taught us. Damn, that's so right, we should have understood how to play this game long ago. Wake up everyone, those who just want to focus on their careers have already been played for suckers, it's time to join the fight.

Wow, this metaphor is brilliant. While we were all buried in writing code, others were already playing chess.

Well... that's why those who bury themselves in coding end up being played for suckers.

Isn't this the biggest pitfall of Web3 right now? Everyone's focused on building the ecosystem, but once a policy comes down, it's all gone. --- Developers are really too naive, thinking good code can change the world, but the reality is, the laws are already being made. --- Got it, no matter how strong the tech is, it can't beat politics. That civilization metaphor is spot on. --- So in the end, it's just a besieged fortress. Those outside can't get in, those inside can't get out. --- Forget it, I've seen through it long ago. Even if you obediently become a builder, you still have to keep an eye on policy trends. --- That's why all the smart people are thinking about how to lobby, not how to iterate technology.

Absolutely right. The days of just burying your head in code are long gone. If you don't understand the rules of the game now, whatever you create is pointless.

Wake up, while you were focused on the technology, they've already changed the rules.

That's right. One person is busy working while another plays politics, and in the end, someone else takes all the credit. The rules of this game are unfair from the start.
