The decentralized map project Bee Maps has completed a $32 million financing round, led by Pantera Capital and others.

On October 6, CoinDesk reported that the decentralized mapping project Bee Maps (powered by Hivemapper technology) announced it has completed a new round of financing totaling $32 million, led by Pantera Capital, LDA Capital, Borderless Capital, and Ajna Capital. Bee Maps is an application running on the Hivemapper network. Hivemapper is one of the largest decentralized physical infrastructure networks in the world based on Solana, focusing on map data construction. Hivemapper allows drivers to contribute data through AI-equipped dashcams that can detect changes in the road in real-time (such as new road signs, detours, construction areas, etc.), ensuring that digital maps can be quickly updated and remain accurate. Bee Maps utilizes this infrastructure to incentivize users to upload street-level image data and rewards them with its native Token HONEY.
