According to Tirto, the Indonesian Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) stated that since the government imposed value-added tax (PPN) and final income tax (PPh Pasal 22) on cryptocurrency transactions, it could bring in approximately 50 to 60 trillion Indonesian rupiah (about 31 to 37 million USD) in tax revenue each year. Revenue for 2024 is expected to reach 62 trillion rupiah, significantly rising from 24.6 trillion rupiah in 2022. Tax officials pointed out that cryptocurrency tax revenue fluctuates greatly and will still depend on market prices and trading activity.
