Can embodied intelligent Bots become "Mining Rigs"? How does PrismaX build the robot coordination layer?
Written by: KarenZ, Foresight News
In recent years, humanoid robot hardware technology has made significant progress, from dexterous robotic hands to high-precision actuators, with some advanced components already commercialized. However, large-scale applications still face key bottlenecks: software has not reached production level, data is scarce, management costs are high, and human-robot collaboration efficiency is low. Currently, most robot companies rely on self-built data collection systems, leading the industry into a "data silo" dilemma, restricting the leap of robotic intelligence into mainstream applications.
Against this backdrop, PrismaX was born, dedicated to building a decentralized embodied intelligent Bots coordination layer, connecting all parties through open protocols to create an efficient, transparent, and scalable open Bots coordination economy. Recently, PrismaX also completed a $11 million financing led by a16z crypto CSX, attracting the attention of numerous Bots enthusiasts. So, what exactly is the charm of PrismaX? How can it stand out in a fiercely competitive market?
PrismaX Team Background and Investors
PrismaX was co-founded by Bayley Wang and Chyna Qu, and the team members have considerable expertise and practical experience in the fields of Bots technology and decentralized economy.
PrismaX co-founder and CEO Bayley Wang has an academic background from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a relatively rich entrepreneurial experience, focusing on augmented reality technology, consumer electronics, and Bots. His career showcases a successful transition from academic research to commercialization, particularly in the fields of technology and hardware development.
In terms of financing, PrismaX completed a $11 million funding round in mid-June 2025. This round was led by a16z, which invested $7 million alone. Other participants included Stanford Blockchain Accelerator, Symbolic, Volt Capital, and Virtuals Protocol. Notably, PrismaX is a part of the a16z crypto startup accelerator CSX 04, officially launched on June 3 during the a16z CSX Demo Day.
What is PrismaX? Core Interpretation of the White Paper
According to the PrismaX white paper, PrismaX is committed to building an open Bots coordination economy through a decentralized data incentive mechanism and unified teleoperation standards.
In simple terms, PrismaX is the "public data and labor layer of the Bots world," combining remote operation protocols, data engines, third-party markets, evaluation models, and token incentive economies, allowing anyone to remotely operate Bots to provide data while earning token rewards, and continuously generating high-quality training data for AI companies.
The PrismaX solution is built around three main pillars, creating a self-reinforcing "flywheel effect":
1. Open-source teleoperation protocol: Connects global remote operators and Bots, allowing operators to control Bots to complete tasks through a standardized interface while generating high-value data.
2. Distributed Data Engine: The data accumulated through the teleop protocol can be used to train AI models. The PrismaX data market is divided into network public data and client private data based on data ownership. Among them:
In addition, the ownership of the data from large-scale visual tasks also belongs to the network, and collecting visual data will mint new tokens based on the scores of its evaluation engine, while accessing the dataset will destroy the tokens paid by the data demand side.
It is worth emphasizing that PrismaX achieves visual data collection through the automated assessment engine Eval Engine, which is used to score the quality of robot operation data and visual data in the network. This not only addresses the issue of data credibility but also incentivizes high-quality contributions, and supports data filtering to help AI companies quickly select datasets that meet training requirements. Specifically, the Eval Engine uses open-source AI models to extract key features, such as calculating the CLIP-L and DINOv2 embeddings for each frame of a video, considering prediction error detection, and identifying valid actions through optical flow analysis. The scoring dimensions include factors such as Motion, semantics, aesthetics, and diversity.
3. A Tripartite Market Built for Remote Operators, Data Buyers, and Bots Owners: Supports use cases such as data collection, bot leasing, and bot rental, ultimately achieving coordination between machines and transactions among bots.
PrismaX Economic System
The core design of the PrismaX platform economic system aims to solve the cold start problem in the Bots industry (lack of economic incentives → insufficient Bots deployment → insufficient data → AI model training limitations → low Bots practicality).
PrismaX is built around the creation, distribution, and circulation of value within the network ecosystem. It uses the PIX token as the core carrier, integrating mechanisms such as staking, incentives, token minting, and burning. Both token minting and burning are linked to real contributions and demand, achieving collaborative incentives for various participants, including remote operators, Bots owners, and data contributors, thereby promoting the self-circulation development of the ecosystem.
In this case, after the remote operator completes the task, they can receive token rewards. The faster the completion speed, the higher the reward multiplier. Additionally, staking tokens can enhance credibility, allowing for priority access to high-yield tasks. As for the data market incentives, when the network's own data is accessed or consumed, a portion of the token fees paid by the enterprise (demand side) will be burned, while another portion will be redistributed to the data creators. For transactions involving customer private data, redistribution to data creators will be based on the amount of data.
The Bots on PrismaX can be seen as "mining machines", providing multiple streams of income for the owners and changing the economic model of Bots ownership. For example, Bots owners can collaborate with data clients and charge transaction fees while providing customized datasets.
How to interact?
PrismaX has launched a points system and Bots reservation system, where users can earn points through the following process.
Log in using your wallet or email to initially receive 1000 points and 10 points for that day.
Read the white paper and complete the quiz to earn 3500 Prisma points.
Daily login rewards 10 points.
Reserve Bots to receive a 3x points boost (99 USD, purchase as needed).
PrismaX previously indicated that users will soon be able to control Bots through the PrismaX Gateway and earn points by playing teleop games and other tasks.
Summary
PrismaX will focus on feeding teleop and visual data to the model training in the first phase. In the second phase, operators can start accepting commercial orders, and the Bots will enter the real production line. In the third phase, the Bots will achieve a high level of autonomy, and the PrismaX network will shift to providing production-level services for millions of Bots.
As PrismaX CEO Bayley Wang stated, "The PrismaX platform will allow humans to work alongside AI, rather than being replaced by it." PrismaX's vision is to create a "flywheel effect" through three pillars: data, teleop, and models: large-scale visual data builds better foundational models, enhances teleop efficiency, and in turn drives more real-world data collection, forming a sustainable Bots development ecosystem.
