Justin Sun, the founder of the TRON blockchain, has signaled today the possibility of integrating TRX with the Solana ecosystem.
"TRX will soon be on Solana. Ready to buy and collaborate," Sun wrote on X on Tuesday.
The proposed integration could enable cross-chain compatibility between the TRON and Solana networks, although specific details of the collaboration are still unclear.
Recently, the TRON network has witnessed increased activity, with the number of active addresses reaching the highest level in two months. TRX is currently trading around $0.22, up nearly 3% in the past 24 hours.
Source: TradingViewThe integration could facilitate direct cross-chain exchange between TRX and SOL, reducing transaction costs and eliminating the need for intermediaries.
By leveraging Solana's high throughput infrastructure, this move could support Sun's earlier goal of deploying feeless stablecoin transactions on the TRON network.
Last month, Sun announced that the Tron blockchain will introduce a feature that allows trading USDT stablecoin without transaction fees.
This initiative, initially scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2024, will expand to Ethereum and other blockchains compatible with EVM.
Solana faces strong community backlash over controversial advertising
Sun's announcement came as Solana faced criticism over a controversial ad referencing gender issues. The ad was later removed on Monday.
The commercial describes a character named “America ( implying the United States)” who is being treated for “dissociative identity disorder”, where the therapist suggests focusing on creating “a new gender”.
"I will lead the world in open blockchain technology, build on-chain, and reclaim the leading position in the innovation journey. I want to innovate in technology, not gender," the character declared in the video.
Advertising has provoked strong reactions from figures in the industry. David McIntyre, CEO of DoubleZero and former director of the Solana Foundation, called the video "disgusting".
"If you want to honor America, why not keep a positive message instead of belittling people and trivializing cultural issues," McIntyre added.
Adam Cochran, a partner at Cinneamhain Ventures, has strongly criticized and questioned its effectiveness.
Cochran suggests that the 'mind virus' has appeared in Silicon Valley, where people feel pressured and consider such messages as 'cool or bold'.
The comments reflect skepticism about the cultural stories of the technology industry.
