Iran's Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant Attacked Three Times in 10 Days
Golden Finance reported that on March 28, Iranian media said that the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant in Iran was attacked during the night of March 27. As of now, no damage to the nuclear power plant has been found, and there are no reports of casualties. The report noted that the nuclear power plant is in operation, storing a large amount of radioactive material, and that an attack on it could trigger a serious nuclear accident. The United States and Israel’s attacks on facilities for peaceful uses of nuclear energy violate international law and pose a serious security threat to the region. Late on the night of the 27th, the International Atomic Energy Agency released a statement saying it had received a notification from Iran that the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant had been attacked again that day—marking the plant’s third attack within 10 days. Iran’s notification also said that the operational reactor was not damaged and that there was no radiation leak. The International Atomic Energy Agency said that its Director General, Rafael Grossi, urged all parties to exercise the utmost military restraint and to avoid the risk of a nuclear accident.
