巴基斯坦任命WLFI顾问负责政府区块链和加密货币事务

Gate News bot消息，据当地媒体周一报道，巴基斯坦政府已任命一位总理特别助理，负责区块链和加密货币事务，此举效仿了美国政府在国家参与数字资产领域的做法。

这一新设立的职位由Bilal Bin Saqib担任，他同时也是财政部长的首席顾问和巴基斯坦加密货币委员会的首席执行官。

Bin Saqib毕业于伦敦政治经济学院，曾入选《福布斯》“30 位 30 岁以下精英”榜单，并因其在社会影响方面的贡献而被查理三世国王授予大英帝国员佐勋章(MBE)。此次任命正值巴基斯坦加大力度将自己定位为加密货币友好型经济体之际。

本周，巴基斯坦政府宣布计划将2000兆瓦的剩余电力分配给比特币挖矿，这是一项支持挖矿和人工智能数据中心的更广泛计划的一部分。这项由巴基斯坦加密货币委员会推动的计划旨在创造收入、创造高科技就业机会并吸引外国投资。

但与美国一样，巴基斯坦对加密货币的拥抱也引发了担忧。据Pakistan Today报道，巴基斯坦2月份外国直接投资同比下降45%，急剧下降。今年1月，巴基斯坦聘请了一名美国说客，协助其在华盛顿举行会谈。据《华尔街日报》报道，巴基斯坦内政部长在访问期间呼吁美国增加投资。

不久之后，该国政府官员开始与与特朗普家族加密货币项目World Liberty Financial（WLFI）建立联系。

在联合创始人Zach Witkoff访问巴基斯坦后不久，Bin Saqib于今年4月成为该项目的顾问。

访问期间，Witkoff及其联合创始人与巴基斯坦财政部签署了一份谅解备忘录，为World Liberty的稳定币在巴基斯坦用于贸易和汇款开辟了可能性。
