The tariff impact on Japanese beef exports has led some Japanese companies to increase prices for American beef exports by over 50%.
Jin10 reported on May 10 that, according to the Japan Broadcasting Corporation, the United States has significantly increased import tariffs on Japanese Wagyu beef. In April this year, the U.S. announced a 10% "minimum Benchmark tariff" on trade partners, which undoubtedly worsens the export situation for Japanese Wagyu beef. A Japanese Wagyu brand producer is closely following the developments in the U.S.-Japan tariff negotiations. This company originally planned to fully launch exports to the U.S. this year, but if the U.S. tariffs take effect, its Wagyu products will face a price increase of over 50%.
