Gate News 消息，3 月 24 日，警方宣布逮捕一名与 2025 年 1 月 Ledger 联合创始人 David Balland 遭绑架案相关的嫌疑人。该男子逃往西班牙后，被西班牙国民警卫队在与法国警方协作的长达数周搜捕行动中抓获。
据了解，该犯罪团伙曾在法国中部对 Balland 及其伴侣实施暴力胁迫，试图迫使其交出价值约1150万美元的比特币。受害者在案件中被迫经历极端暴力，包括 Balland 一根手指被砍断。执法机构随后成功解救两人，并在疑似犯罪现场逮捕了其他 10 名团伙成员。
警方调查显示，最新被捕者曾先后在西班牙瓦伦西亚、塞维利亚及安达卢西亚地区活动，并与同伙在马贝拉与马拉加之间的贝纳尔马德纳市租住房产。法国法院已发出引渡令，西班牙法院正在按欧盟《欧洲逮捕令议定书》配合执法，实现跨境引渡，无需通过大使馆或其他政治机构。
法国执法部门指出，近年来所谓“扳手袭击”案件呈上升趋势，一些犯罪团伙将目标锁定在加密货币持有者及其家属，包括行业从业人员和知名人士。警方已在全国范围展开逮捕行动，以遏制针对加密资产的暴力犯罪。
