3月3日消息，据Cointelegraph报道，某主流CEX联合创始人Ben Delo承诺向伦敦数学科学研究所（LIMS）捐赠约2700万美元，使其成为英国牛津、剑桥之外接受私人捐款规模最大之一。此笔资金包括1330万美元的预付款，以及通过额外筹款筹集到的同等金额，用于启动总额达8000万美元的长期捐赠基金，支持LIMS在理论物理、纯数学及人工智能领域的研究。
Ben Delo表示，他希望看到研究所培养出的学者赢得菲尔兹奖和诺贝尔奖，并强调选择LIMS而非大型大学，是因为研究人员可以专注于科研本身，而无需承担教学和行政工作。他同时批评英国科研经费机制缺乏活力和连贯性。Ben Delo曾资助设立Ben Delo奖学金，并支持神经多样性、学术自由及数学教育等公益事业。
据报道，Ben Delo在获得特朗普赦免前已缴纳1000万美元罚款，此前他因违反美国银行法与联合创始人共同承认责任。2025年3月，唐纳德·特朗普总统对其赦免，使他得以继续参与科研和慈善活动。
LIMS由物理学家Thomas Fink于2011年创立，位于英国皇家研究院内，办公地点曾为化学家Michael Faraday住所。研究所为科学家提供为期三年的奖学金，并资助流亡科学家，吸引全球研究人员加入。
与此同时，英国议员呼吁暂时禁止加密货币政治捐款，警告此类支付可能带来外国势力干预。此前，Reform UK曾接受早期加密货币投资者Christopher Harborne创纪录的1200万美元政治捐款。业内人士认为，随着加密资产持续进入学术和政治领域，监管与合规问题将成为关注重点。
