U.S.-based Strategy Inc. has officially entered the ranks of America’s top five corporations by total reserve assets, thanks to its massive $80 billion Bitcoin treasury — a milestone that places it alongside the world’s largest financial heavyweights.

Strategy Now Ranks Beside Amazon, Microsoft, and Berkshire Hathaway The company revealed a chart comparing its Bitcoin reserves to the cash holdings of major U.S. corporations like Berkshire Hathaway, Amazon, Google, and Microsoft. Strategy’s $80 billion in BTC now puts it just behind these four giants, and ahead of Apple, Meta, NVIDIA, and Tesla in terms of cash and short-term reserves. According to Strategy’s latest filing with the SEC, the company holds 640,031 BTC valued at $47.35 billion (as of October 5, 2025). Although it paused new purchases after September 29, its average acquisition price remains around $73,983 per Bitcoin — meaning the firm is sitting on massive unrealized profits. As of September 30, Strategy’s digital asset portfolio was valued at $73.21 billion, generating $3.9 billion in unrealized gains during Q3 — one of the largest quarterly increases in company history, driven by Bitcoin’s powerful rally to new all-time highs.

Record-Setting Quarter: Profits, Shares, and Tax Adjustments The firm also reported a deferred tax expense of $1.12 billion, reflecting the accounting impact of its large Bitcoin exposure. Between September 22 and 28, Strategy sold 101,713 Series A STRF preferred shares, netting $11.3 million in proceeds. It also sold 5,000 STRD shares, earning $0.4 million in profit. The company still holds unsold STRF shares worth $1.72 billion and plans to issue additional STRD shares valued at $4.15 billion, which could help reduce its leverage in the coming quarters.

Strategy Increases Security Budget — Betting on Bitcoin’s Future The board approved a $2 million annual security budget for CEO Michael J. Saylor, up from the previous $1.4 million, effective October 1, 2025 — underscoring the company’s focus on safeguarding its digital fortune. Despite strong profits, Strategy remains heavily leveraged, with several convertible debt instruments on its books. Analysts warn that a sudden market downturn could expose the firm to liquidity risks.

When Meta declined the proposal, Bitcoin traded at $104,800; today, it’s up more than 20%.

Over 200 Public Companies Now Hold Bitcoin In just one year, the number of publicly traded firms holding Bitcoin has more than doubled — from fewer than 100 at the start of 2025 to over 200 today.
