Spot gold price drops 2%, on-chain whale liquidated for $1.53 million

Gate News reports that on March 19, spot gold prices dropped 2%, briefly falling below $4,750 per ounce, triggering large-scale on-chain liquidations. The whale address 0x21e experienced two major liquidations, totaling 318 gold tokens valued at approximately $1.53 million, which has now been fully closed and exited.

The second-largest on-chain gold long position address 0x773 faces liquidation risk. Its current holdings are valued at $4.69 million, with an average price of $5,214, and a liquidation price of $4,687.50. The position is currently unrealized loss of $420,000, with a drawdown rate of 228%, making it the closest to liquidation among addresses holding over $1 million.
