Februar, wurde von Cexplorer ein Multi-Millionen-Mint gemeldet, der derzeit insgesamt 14 Millionen USDCx beträgt. Da die angekündigte Markteinführung für Februar geplant war und nur noch etwas mehr als ein Tag bis zum Monatsende verbleibt, ist zu erwarten, dass wir innerhalb der nächsten 36 Stunden eine offizielle Bestätigung der vollständigen USDCx-Integration auf Cardano sehen könnten.
Die Diskussion betrifft die Integration von USDC durch Circle mit Cardano, eine Vereinbarung, die Ende Januar 2026 von Charles Hoskinson unterzeichnet und bekannt gegeben wurde. Der Token trägt das Tickersymbol USDCx.
Warum USDCx auf Cardano kein einfacher USDC-Stablecoin ist
Im Gegensatz zu anderen USDC-Implementierungen auf Blockchains wie Solana oder Ethereum wird USDC auf Cardano nicht nativ sein. Daher das Suffix „X“, da der Stablecoin hier eine Version darstellt, die durch Circle’s Xreserve-Infrastruktur eins zu eins durch den ursprünglichen USDC abgesichert ist.

Diese Lösung ist speziell für Blockchains konzipiert, die die Ethereum Virtual Machine nicht verwenden, wie beispielsweise Cardano.
Ein zentrales Merkmal von USDCx auf Cardano ist die Fokussierung auf Transaktionsprivatsphäre durch den Einsatz von Zero Knowledge Proof-Technologie, was es auch von den Standardversionen auf anderen Netzwerken unterscheidet. Ansonsten wird USDCx voraussichtlich wie ein regulärer Circle-Stablecoin funktionieren.
Es ist wichtig zu beachten, dass die direkte Rücknahme in Fiat-Dollar über ein Circle-Bankkonto nur für institutionelle Kunden möglich ist. Privatnutzer werden erwartet, den Stablecoin auf zentralisierten Börsen oder via DEXes zu tauschen, wo er beim Verlassen des Netzwerks sofort in den Standard-USDC umgewandelt wird.
Vor USDCx nutzten Cardano-Nutzer USDTM; Brückentoken wie jene, die über WanChain ausgegeben wurden und Versionen von USDC und USDT als Wrapped Tokens bereitstellen; sowie DJED, einen algorithmisch überbesicherten Stablecoin.
Diese Lösungen können jedoch nicht mit einem von Circle ausgegebenen Stablecoin konkurrieren, der neben seiner Marktkapitalisierung – effektiv der Liquidität im Falle eines Stablecoins – von 75 Milliarden US-Dollar, den Zugang für Cardano-Entwickler und Nutzer des globalen Kryptomarktes erheblich erweitert.
