ChainCatcher 消息，印度马德拉斯高等法院周五裁定加密货币构成受宪法保护的财产，阻止 WazirX 在其新加坡重组计划下重新分配用户资产。法官 N. Anand Venkatesh 颁布禁令保护 3,532 枚 XRP 代币，拒绝了该交易所在 2024 年 7 月遭受 2.34 亿美元黑客攻击后提出的“损失社会化”方案。法官表示，虽然加密货币“既不是有形财产也不是货币”，但“它是一种财产，能够以有益的形式被享有和拥有”。该裁决确立了加密资产作为财产的法律地位，并规定交易所托管的资产必须被视为客户信托财产。法院还拒绝了 WazirX 关于其新加坡法院批准的重组自动约束印度用户的论点。目前用户仅收到了预期资金的 30%。
